Kick-up Your Heels for World-Changing Shoes

We love seeing photos of PUNJAMMIES® fans wearing their favorite loungewear at brunch with girlfriends, in the school pick-up line, and traveling the world. If you’re looking for cute shoes to wear with your loungewear pants or capris, here’s a few brands that are making a positive impact and changing the world one ethically-made shoe at a time.

NISOLO

Nisolo empowers over 50 skilled artisans in impoverished, developing regions of Peru through sustainable employment, resources, and creating access to a global market. They have beautifully hand-crafted Chukka boots, flats, and heels but we think these strappy sandals will go perfect with a pair of Punjammies this summer.

THE ROOT COLLECTIVE

The Root Collective is certified B-Corp that understands that their business is about more than the lovely shoes they sell, it’s about creating positive change. Specifically, they are helping change marginalized communities in Guatemala by partnering with local businesses to grow and create dignified jobs at a fair pay. We love and echo these words from their founder, “We want people to be treated fairly and with kindness. We believe that a job can change lives and empower communities.”

OLIBERTE

Oliberté is a sustainable lifestyle brand supporting workers’ rights in sub-Saharan Africa. Every pair of this B-Corp’s shoes is made in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — the world’s first Fair-Trade Certified footwear manufacturing factory. We appreciate their strong belief in empowerment, transparency, and doing right by all.

SOLE HOPE

Sole Hope exists to offer HOPE, healthier lives and freedom from foot-related diseases through education, jobs, and medical relief. We are including these baby shoes on our list because we love the very practical and important work this organization is doing to treat and prevent a common issue (jiggers) in Uganda. Every child who visits their clinic is fitted with a pair of these closed-toe shoes and their family is educated about the cause and prevention of jiggers.  Additionally, Sole Hope is employing people within the community to make the shoes at a fair-wage. Even if your children are all grown up or you and your friends do not have children, you can still get involved through their shoe-cutting parties.  All you need is $10 and a few pairs of old jeans.
