Children’s Homes
Breaking the Cycle with Education
We believe that equipping vulnerable children with good quality education gives them a strong foundation that not only sets them up for success in their future but also enables entire families and communities to escape cycles of poverty and human trafficking.
Children’s Homes: Nurturing safety, care, and opportunity
Our Children’s Homes were established to provide a safe, nurturing environment for at-risk children—offering loving care, nutritious meals, and access to high-quality English-medium education.
Today, we support 21 homes that serve children from a range of vulnerable backgrounds, including orphans, semi-orphans, children affected by the commercial sex trade, and those from families impacted by HIV/AIDS.
Each home houses 10 children, cared for by a dedicated house mother and support staff. Beyond meeting their basic needs, we strive to foster a sense of hope and ambition. Children are encouraged to thrive academically and participate in extracurricular activities. Many have gone on to graduate high school with distinction, often earning top honors and securing scholarships for further education.
Tuition Centers: Supporting Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our Tuition Centers were established to support children whose parents, often due to long working hours or lack of literacy, are unable to assist with homework after school. In a city like Hyderabad—with its large migrant population—this gap can have serious consequences. Research shows that students without after-school academic support are at a higher risk of dropping out.
To bridge this gap, we launched Tuition Centers as safe, supportive learning spaces that encourage students to stay in school and complete their education. Today, we operate 23 centers, each serving 25–30 students. Every center is led by a qualified teacher who dedicates two hours daily to help children with homework, clarify doubts, and reinforce classroom learning.
Back to School Program: Restoring Education, Rebuilding Futures
Tragedies such as work-related accidents, terminal illnesses, suicides due to debt, and extreme poverty often result in the loss of a father—forcing many children to drop out of school. In such cases, mothers are left struggling to meet basic needs, let alone afford education costs.
The Back to School Program steps in to support these vulnerable children by covering school fees and helping them stay in school until their mothers are in a position to take over. Many mothers also receive training in employable skills, enabling them to find sustainable income and eventually support their children’s education independently.
