Our mission is to end human trafficking.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING = MODERN-DAY SLAVERY

Our mission is to end human trafficking.

The majority of women enter slavery in one of three ways:

Why India?

India has the highest number of trafficked persons worldwide.

Prema

About 90% of trafficking is internal, with the lowest classes of society most vulnerable, although women and girls from other countries are trafficked through the country.

Prema 4

It is estimated that there are more than 3 million sex workers in India.

INDIA AND BEYOND:

Making progress on the world’s to-do list.

Poverty

A Crisis Hidden in Plain Sight.

Many women are raising their children on less than $2 per day and struggle to make ends meet.

  • India is home to more than 1.3 billion people—and nearly one in five live below the national poverty line. That’s approximately 320 million people—comparable to the entire population of the United States—struggling every day to meet their basic needs.
  • For millions of mothers, the reality is heartbreaking. With no access to education, steady employment, or reliable resources, they are left with impossible choices. Unable to provide food, shelter, or education for their children, they face a cycle of poverty that leaves them—and their children—deeply vulnerable to exploitation, including human trafficking.

Powerlessness

Breaking Barriers, Restoring Hope

Socioeconomic status and gender inequities are barriers to empowerment.

  • Poverty and gender inequity are powerful forces that keep women trapped in cycles of powerlessness and isolation. When someone believes they have no ability to change their circumstances, hopelessness takes root.
  • But change is possible.
  • We partner with trusted local centers in India to build powerful, caring communities that break this cycle. Together, we create spaces where women are seen, supported, and empowered.
  • Through access to job training, employment opportunities, and holistic support, women begin to reclaim their futures—one step at a time. In these communities, transformation begins, not just with skills, but with dignity, hope, and possibility.
  •

Lack of Access

Creating Pathways to Lasting Freedom

Lack of resources prevents access to skills training, education and job opportunities.

  • Breaking the cycle of poverty and trafficking requires a comprehensive approach.
  • Many women face overwhelming barriers: no access to education, job opportunities, or even the basic resources needed to begin again.
  • We invest in wraparound services that help women build strong, stable foundations for their futures.

This includes:

Education for their children
Safe housing for survivors escaping abuse
Health and wellness services to promote healing
Skills Training to create pathways to socio-economic independence
Micro-loans for women ready to launch their own small businesses
Community to provide support and a sense of belonging

With these essential services in place, women and their children are equipped not just to survive—but to thrive.
